A Box Full Of Beads

 Beads are lovely.....
Shiny ones that give me memories ...of the day I picked them out at the bead show knowing they were perfect for the top I had just bought to wear to the Grand Opening of where I work.

Then there are ones made at Sassy Bead...

and ones made by a dear friend...I love them, even though they make me itch!

and my Summer Beads, also made at Sassy.

and now I have a lovely tea chest to put them in....

Can you belive that I was given this poor unwanted box for nothing???

just because it had no more tea to fill it...done! discarded!.....now it has a new life and is admired every day!

unique faerie friendships

Just as I got back to England this article was in the Daily Mail 'YOU' magazine. They are two current presenters talking about their friendship.

End of October Snow Fall

View from my front door!

The Summer is hot here and around mid August we often experience some much welcomed cooler days, but I have to admit that thinking about Winter is something I tend not to do for a very long time...or until I wake up one morning look out the window and see this!! The it hits me like a tonne of bricks that I can no longer live in denial or bury my head in the sand or wear sandals and that in fact it is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!!

Some children just have to give the bear feet thing one last hurrah!!

The bushes and trees are laden with snow, which is very wrong considering they still have not lost their leaves! Mother Nature got the sequence of events back to front again!

Polly dog does love the snow though...

So this is it. Winter is really on its way (see I still cannot accept it is here!!)

The end has come to sandals and warm sunny days weather I like it or not!!!

I've been knitting....

The evenings are dark and dreary and I have been feeling a little bored. All I seem to want to do after the dinner dishes are done is tuck up in my warm bed and relax. I decided that I should dig out some old 'therapy knitting' that I had started on a very long 8 hour train ride last year. I LOVE yarn and texture and colour. This morning I woke up in the middle of a dream that I was in the most wonderful wool shop. I am hoping this is a premonition!!! I was very disappointed last week when I went to a new wool shop to look for some inspiration and was met with a very unhelpful sales lady. I decided their shop was not worthy of my hard earned money and left! I have been investing in bamboo needles for the last few projects and enjoy them very much. Does anyone else use bamboo?
Anyway, I am knitting felted mitts. I have one pair knitted and slightly felted and another pair knitted and not felted at all. Now I have left over wool so I am knitting a scarf, just to use it up. It will probably be to scratchy for me to wear so I will no doubt give it away.
